A small but mighty fruit—the cranberry—may hold the key to preserving memory and preventing dementia! Researchers at the University of East Anglia in the UK have discovered that daily consumption of cranberries may improve memory, slow the progression of dementia, and even reduce “bad” cholesterol.
The study followed 60 healthy subjects for 12 weeks, with half consuming cranberry powder daily and the other half receiving a placebo. The results were surprising: the cranberry-consuming subjects showed significant improvements in their memory for daily events, improved cerebral blood flow, and even a reduction in “bad” cholesterol levels.
