Why it is not recommended to kiss a deceased loved one
In moments of deep grief, such as the loss of a loved one, many people feel the need to say goodbye with one last gesture of love: a kiss. Whether on the forehead, cheek, or hands, kissing a deceased person often feels like an act of affection, respect, or comfort. However, while this impulse is completely human and understandable, experts caution that it is not a recommended practice, and there are a number of reasons for this.

Firstly, there is the health issue. Although a lifeless body does not breathe or move, it can harbor microorganisms that remain active for some time after death. These viruses or bacteria, depending on the cause of death, can still pose a risk, especially if the contact is direct with mucous membranes, such as the lips. In some cases, such as deaths related to infectious diseases, the danger increases significantly.
