Teenager suffers amputation after accident in Jura
On June 14, 2025, a very serious accident occurred at the Jura Splash park in Desnes. Wilson Seigler, a 17-year-old teenager, saw his leg violently wedged between two structural elements of a wave slide. According to his family, a platform at the base of the attraction was not properly secured, creating a gap large enough to cause the accident. Wilson was treated quickly and was first hospitalized in Lons-le-Saunier, where doctors attempted to stabilize his kneecap and tibia. As his condition deteriorated, he was evacuated by helicopter to the Besançon University Hospital, losing up to 2.5 liters of blood during the transfer.
