Serious accident at a water park: A 17-year-old boy has his leg amputated after getting his leg stuck in a slide

A real  tragedy  recently unfolded in a water park in the Jura region. A 17-year-old teenager had to have his leg amputated after seriously injuring himself while sliding down a  slide . He was rushed to hospital, but unfortunately, he was unable to avoid this tragic outcome. An  investigation  is now underway to clarify the circumstances.

Water parks, long synonymous with  family fun  and relaxation, are now making headlines after a series of tragic incidents. On July 22, a 21-month-old German girl died on the island of Rab in Croatia after falling more than 3.5 meters down a slide. Attempts to revive her were unfortunately unsuccessful. This tragedy, reported across Europe, sparked deep emotion.

Just two days later, another tragic incident occurred in the United States, in Hersheypark, Pennsylvania. A 9-year-old boy was spotted in distress in the water of a water park called “The Boardwalk.” Despite rapid emergency response and coordinated resuscitation, the child did not survive.

Teenager suffers amputation after accident in Jura

On June 14, 2025, a very serious accident occurred at the  Jura Splash park in Desnes. Wilson Seigler, a 17-year-old teenager, saw his leg violently wedged between two structural elements of a wave slide. According to his family, a platform at the base of the attraction was not properly secured, creating a gap large enough to cause the accident. Wilson was treated quickly and was first hospitalized in Lons-le-Saunier, where doctors attempted to stabilize his kneecap and tibia. As his condition deteriorated, he was evacuated by helicopter to the Besançon University Hospital, losing up to 2.5 liters of blood during the transfer.
