đDoes matter matter?
Yes. A suitable fabric, such as  cotton,   allows the skin to breathe and retains less moisture. Synthetic fabrics, such as polyester or elastane, retain heat and can worsen the bacterial environment if underwear is not changed regularly.
đčđșWomen and men: different risks
In  women,   the urethra is shorter, making it easier for bacteria to pass into the bladder. Wearing unchanged underwear increases the risk of  urinary tract infections and candidiasis  .
In  men   , the risk is less pronounced, but irritation, unpleasant odors and rashes can still occur.
â What do doctors and dermatologists advise?
Most experts  do not recommend wearing the same underwear two days in a row  , even in the absence of physical activity or visible soiling.
đčChange your underwear  every day
đč  Choose  breathable fabrics   (cotton is best)
đčOn a more active day, with sweating or sports, even  two changes per day are recommended
đAnd what should we do in an emergency?
Travel, camping, forgotten luggage… life sometimes throws up surprises. If  you have no choice   and have to wear your underwear for a second day:
Try  airing it out   for a few hours.
Avoid tight clothing
Try to keep the intimate area  dry and clean.
As soon as possible,  change it   and wash it thoroughly.
