7. Allow yourself to be happy, regardless of the children
We have often been told, “A mother’s happiness lies in her children.” And if the children move away, does that mean it will all have been in vain? No.
Your happiness is not a reward, it is not a result, it is not a consequence of the actions of others.
It’s your right. You live, you breathe, you feel. And that’s enough to have the right to joy. Look for it in yourself, in the world, in the people around you. Even if they’re not children, but friends or neighbors.
It hurts when our loved ones hurt us. It’s like a long, cold rain. But even the grayest day ends. And the sun rises.
And it’s inside you. Don’t let anyone extinguish it. Sometimes the best way to find love again is to stop begging for it. And start loving yourself.
