These secret habits that all couples adopt… but don’t own up to

For the first few months, we jealously guard our privacy. Then comes the day when the door is left ajar… to continue the conversation! Some laugh about it, others pretend not to notice this  change in habits . A symbolic milestone that often marks a new stage in the relationship.

  1. Discreetly smelling each other’s clothes before wearing them

When the laundry basket is overflowing but you love that sweater, you develop quick detection techniques. A  strategic sniff  is sometimes enough to convince yourself that “it can wait another day.” Not very glamorous, but terribly effective for saving time!

  1. Sharing your toiletries without feeling guilty

The marital bathroom quickly becomes a space without boundaries. Razors, nail files, or eyebrow tweezers: everything ends up circulating freely. A form of  uninhibited complicity  that makes us smile… even if our hygienist selves from first dates would be shocked!

  1. Emptying one’s nose without restraint in front of the other

Man blowing his nose loudly

Colds, allergies, or simply the need to clear the sinuses: at some point, good manners are shattered. That trumpet noise that we would have hidden at all costs at the beginning becomes almost  commonplace in everyday life as a couple . Proof that true love survives even runny noses!

  1. Eating from the same plate… even with a bad cold

Whether it’s finishing the last cookie or diving into a jar of Nutella together, couples share everything—microbes included. This  trend toward shared taste buds  even resists seasonal flu. Hygiene? Yes, but love sometimes gives wings… to bacteria!

  1. Warming your icy feet on each other’s legs

The eternal battle between the one who’s always cold and the one who overheats! Sliding your frozen toes against each other’s skin becomes a  marital ritual  as dreaded as it is touching. The protests are often more theatrical than sincere… let’s admit it!
