Bring your two index fingers together so that your nails touch at their bases, facing each other.
In a healthy person, there remains a small diamond-shaped “window” between them.
However, if the fingers are tightly pressed together and there is no space, this may be a sign of thickening of the phalanges, i.e. “drumsticks”.

Why does lung cancer change the shape of fingers?
