The fashion world is in mourning! Death of Giorgio Armani.

After serving in the army for two years, he abandoned his studies for good and, in 1957, found a job as an assistant and buyer at La Rinascente in Milan, then one of the most exclusive department stores in Europe. Thanks to his medical training, he was assigned to the military hospital in Verona, which allowed him to attend performances at the Verona Arena.

Career

He began creating new designs in 1970, which were sold in several Italian fashion houses. In 1974, his first collection was presented and was a great success. He achieved true fame in 1975.

Armani is one of the world’s greatest fashion designers, influencing fashion for generations. In addition to clothing, his collections include accessories, watches, and jewelry.

He was among the first designers to ban models with a body mass index (BMI) below 18 after the death of model Ana Carolina Reston in 2006 from anorexia nervosa.
