My one-year-old son and I moved into a new house, but a few days later, I started noticing strange things. I first noticed an unusual object on the bedroom carpet: something thin and translucent. I thought it was trash, until the next day I found a similar object, this time in the bathroom.
When I finally figured out what it really was, I was horrified. Now I don’t even know how to continue living in this house. The rest is in the first comment.
When we moved into our new home with my toddler, I thought it was the beginning of a peaceful new life.
The first few days went by quietly and normally.
But on the fourth or fifth day, I noticed a strange object on the bedroom carpet. It looked like a thin, translucent ribbon, curled into a circle.
I thought it was some kind of junk—a piece of dried-up tape, maybe. But when I picked it up, it was soft, almost parchment-like, and… strangely alive. Its interior had a distinctive scaly pattern. I felt a chill run down my spine.
I was still trying to stay rational. “There’s always something unusual to be found in old houses,” I told myself. But soon, other things started happening.
At night, I heard strange noises, as if something was moving under the floorboards. Sometimes, a faint, barely audible hiss. At first, I thought it was the neighbors downstairs, maybe their children or pets. But after a few days, the noises got louder. It seemed like they were getting closer, moving right under our feet. Especially in the bathroom.
My fear grew. My son was sleeping in his crib, and I often woke up in the middle of the night to check on him.
On the seventh day, I found another piece of this strange “duct tape.” This time, behind the dresser in the nursery. The same soft, translucent material. I started looking for information on the internet. It turned out to be… snakeskin.
