Unwanted Roommates
While this post was laughable, it also highlighted a very real problem: hidden rodent infestations in residential homes.
Rodents like rats and mice often inhabit crawl spaces, attic insulation, and wall voids, going undetected until they leave clues, such as droppings, scratches, or, in the case of the original post’s author, a tail cameo.
The Centers for Disease Control warns that “rodents can carry many diseases that can spread directly or indirectly to humans.”
One such disease is hantavirus, a rare but potentially fatal illness that claimed the life of Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy Arakawa in February 2025.
