Should I open the door after washing? Opinions on this issue are divided. Some are firmly convinced that if you don’t open the door slightly, the washing machine will smell, etc.
Others calmly close the door and go about their business without worrying.
My neighbor Alexander, who has worked for a service company for 7 years, has repaired more than one washing machine. He said that this can lead to completely unexpected problems.
When a door is open, it starts to sag over time. Especially if it’s made of thick glass. The hinges that hold it in place may not be designed to withstand such loads! They’re usually made of aluminum alloys, which aren’t known for being particularly durable.
If the door sags a little, another problem arises – the lock starts to “rebell”. At first it seems that something is wrong, and then – bam! – and the door does not close. It turns out that the axis of the electronic lock no longer coincides with the axis of the hatch. As a result, the machine simply refuses to work.
But here was a surprise for me. I thought that after each wash you should wipe the drum dry. It turned out that this is not only unnecessary, but also harmful! There is always water left in the washing machine – and this is not an accident.
