Preparation :
Place the potatoes in a saucepan with the milk, garlic cloves and salt.
Cook over medium heat until the potatoes are tender, about 20 to 25 minutes.
If you want a milder garlic flavor, remove the cloves before mashing the potatoes.
Add the butter, then mash everything with a potato masher or a fork until you get the desired texture.
For an even smoother puree, stir in a little extra hot milk.
Adjust the seasoning with black pepper and nutmeg to taste.
Serve hot, as an accompaniment to your favorite dish.
