Extraordinary: Minister flies naked into river, Prime Minister’s wife burns alive

Former Nepalese Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal’s wife, Rabi Lakshmi Chitrakar, died after sustaining serious injuries during protests in the country today, India Today reports.

The house of the Prime Minister and his wife in Dalu was burglarized and set on fire.

Critical condition

According to Nepalese publication Khabar Hub, family members said Chitrakar was taken to Kirtipur Burns Hospital in critical condition.

Nepal’s health ministry announced that the death toll from anti-corruption protests in the country has risen to 25 and 633 injured, Reuters reported.

Nepalese Prime Minister Sharma Oli resigned, and hours later, President Ram Chandra Poudel also resigned.

A video on social media shows brutal actions against Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, who was stripped naked by protesters and thrown into the river.
