Lisa agrees, “Yes, I do.”
“Let’s make the transfer, then.”
Lisa called Max and arranged lunch. “Hi, Max,” Lisa said in a carefully neutral voice. “Would you like to have lunch together today?”
“Sure, Lisa. I can pick you up at your place. In an hour, for example?” Max’s voice was relaxed.
After the call, Kate’s phone rang. “It’s Max,” she whispered to Lisa.
She replied coldly, “Hello?”

She gave them the address where Max was hiding. Later, Lisa witnessed Max’s arrival; he was no longer the charming fellow he once was. In the interrogation room, the detective confronted him. “You’re in serious trouble, Max,” he said. “Fraud, theft, identity theft. Kate told us everything.”
Max, realizing his situation, took on a defeated look. He knew his game was over.
Lisa felt a mixture of pain and satisfaction. Max would finally face the consequences of his actions. Leaving the police station, she knew she had turned the page. She was ready to rebuild her life with the lessons she had learned. She walked into the night, ready for a fresh start.
