“I can find out for you,” Tom offered. Lisa knew her father had resources and contacts, thanks to his years in the police force, that could help her. He soon returned with Max’s address on a slip of paper, which he gave to her.
Lisa went to his house immediately. After taking a deep breath, she rang Max’s doorbell and a woman opened the door.

“You must be Max’s housekeeper? Is Max home?” Lisa asks.
“No, I’m his wife, Kate. And you are?”, replied the woman.
“I’m Lisa… his fiancée,” Lisa stammers, shocked.
“Engaged? Are you kidding me? He’s married!” Kate revealed, showing off her wedding ring.
Confused and hurt, Lisa showed off her engagement ring. “He never said he was married. I didn’t know,” she explained.
Kate, angry, accused Lisa of seducing her husband and began throwing objects at her.
“Get out of here and never go near my husband again,” Kate shouted, her face bright red.
Before Lisa could say another word, Kate slammed the door in her face.

Sitting outside Max’s house, Lisa was crying, feeling betrayed. Shortly after, Kate joined her with wine, apologizing for her reaction.
“That idiot cheated on both of us,” Kate said bitterly, revealing that they had been married for seven years. They shared the wine in silence.
