I didn’t plan to clean that day. I was just standing in the kitchen, staring at a cloudy glass kettle that had slowly turned white and chalky over time. No matter how many times I rinsed it, that rough layer inside never went away. It looked old, dirty, and honestly embarrassing when guests came over.
I had already tried scrubbing it. Soap didn’t help. Hot water didn’t help. I even considered replacing it, even though it still worked perfectly.
That’s when I remembered something simple I’d heard years ago and never really believed: white vinegar.
I wasn’t expecting much, but curiosity won.
The Vinegar Trick That Changed Everything
I poured white vinegar directly into the kettle until it covered the chalky buildup inside. No water. Just vinegar.
At first, nothing happened. It just sat there, clear and quiet. I turned the kettle on and let the vinegar heat up—not boiling, just hot. Then I turned it off and walked away.
About fifteen minutes later, I came back.
