Let’s talk health. More specifically, how our bodies can warn us of an impending crisis (heart attack or stroke). The problem is that we’ve forgotten to listen to our bodies. We refuse to understand and accept the signs of declining health.
– Ouch, my back hurts. It’s okay!
– Oh, I have pain here. It’s nothing serious. I’ll take a pill.
And we don’t hear ourselves, nor our bodies. And this is very important: to start feeling yourself.
What is a stroke? Unfortunately, not everyone knows.
When our brain (in whole or in part) suddenly stops receiving the necessary amount of blood and therefore oxygen, cell death occurs. During a stroke, vital brain cells die.
Following a stroke, we can lose our ability to think clearly, walk, and move. In other words, the connection between the brain and certain parts of the body is interrupted.
Why does blood stop flowing through the blood vessels to the brain? I’ll list the reasons. The most common cause is thrombosis, which is the formation of small clumps of cells in the vessels.
The clot may be small or similar in diameter to the blood vessel. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel becomes blocked.
The causes of thrombus formation in blood vessels are:
– poor diet;
– lack of daily movement (lack of physical activity is a 21st century disease);
– hormonal problems (thyroid diseases, diseases of the reproductive system, leading to thinning of blood vessels);
– age-related changes (with age, our blood vessels become thinner);
– bad habits.
