The winning duo: white vinegar and citrus zest

White vinegar has long been a favorite for household cleaning.  But did you know that when combined with orange or lemon peel, it becomes even more effective?  This combination creates a multi-purpose degreaser with a fresh, natural scent that’s much more pleasant than the smell of vinegar alone.

Instructions in 6 steps

  1. Take a clean glass jar (jam jar type).
  2. Fill it 3/4 full with your well-washed citrus peels.
  3. Cover completely with white vinegar.
  4. Leave to macerate away from light for 2 weeks.  Patience is the key to success!
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
  6. Pour into a reusable spray bottle.
