Cervical cancer: warning signs not to ignore

How is cervical cancer diagnosed?

If there is any doubt, several tests can help to make an accurate diagnosis:

Cervical smear: analysis of cells from the cervix.

HPV test: detection of high-risk strains.

Colposcopy: more detailed observation if abnormalities are detected.

Biopsy: tissue sampling in case of strong suspicion.

Imaging examinations (MRI, CT scan…): to assess the extent in case of a confirmed diagnosis.

What if the cancer is confirmed?

Don’t panic: there are many treatments available today, each tailored to a specific situation:

Surgery: conization or hysterectomy, depending on the progression of the disease.

Radiotherapy, often combined with chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy alone, for more advanced forms.

Immunotherapy, currently under development but showing promise.

Each situation is different, and care is provided by a specialized medical team.

Your health, your priority

When it comes to your health, every little bit helps. Listen to your body, don’t be afraid to talk about it openly, and don’t neglect your follow-up appointments. Because getting screened is already a form of self-care.
